TEAMCARE
TEAMCARE is the coordination of utilization of a full functioning team approach to foster care. In addition to the utilization of a professional treatment team, Turning Point Family Care will utilize all existing community-based services and resources to help bring total healing and restoration to children and families served. Not only is Turning Point Family Care family-focused and cost-efficient, but also by using the TEAMCARE approach, we will set up the aftercare program for each child beginning with the very first day of placement. More specifically, the Turning Point foster child will be plugged into the community-based resources upon admission, months prior to their transition back home, thus maximizing the chances of success after they stay in foster care. Community-based resources may include: sport teams, boys and girls scouts and boys and girls clubs, theatre, dance, music, martial arts, debate team, mentor programs, etc.
Turning Point Family Care views the existing community-based resources as our ultimate treatment partners. Not only will the mental health professionals of each community help us to advance the very best care for children placed in our care, but also the community as a whole will act as the perfect catalyst for healing and complete family restoration. We see corporations, small businesses, police departments, and local merchants as potential cooperative partners in our mission to serve hurt children.
Turning Point Family Care will mobilize volunteers, child advocates, and entire communities to help us provide exceptional foster care. Each Turning Point foster family will be encouraged to develop a network of strategic community-based alliances, involving everyone for the Lions Club to the City Council to get enthusiastically behind our cause. Turning Point Family Care will lobby entire communities to get behind the awesome responsibility of taking care of abused and neglected children.
Additionally, Turning Point Family Care will take every responsibility to give back to the community by mobilizing our foster parents as volunteers in community service projects; thus helping to activate a powerful group of civic-minded individuals (our foster parents) to help out the community in times of need. Turning Point Family Care will look at every healthy and grounded member of the community, and every worthwhile cause, as potential healing opportunities for the children we serve.
We believe the most powerful way to serve our client will come from our dedication to create collaborative relationships that generate shared benefits for everyone involved. As a professional staff, our focus is to be contributors to the development of a healthier and more effective ecology for everyone we come into contact with, including: children, foster parents, biological parents, case managers, and the community in which we all live. We know that isolation, hopelessness, and exhaustion can drain even the most talented and dedicated professionals. Through the TEAMCARE system, our foster parents and staff can depend on a true therapeutic network that shares, supports, and energizes the healing process.
Turning Point Family Care offers and array of therapeutic and professional services oriented toward the goal of family unity and family stability. We highly stress that foster care should only be a short-term option with the ultimate goal of reunification of the child with the primary family, kinship care, adoption, or emancipation. Turning Point Family Care views our foster care program as the bridge to a stable and permanent living environment.
